Canvas wall art of a truncated date, hand painted in Liquitex, contrasted against a dark background. On Kawara began his Today series in 1966, creating a series of paintings documenting the days in which they were made. If a painting could not be completed in a single day, it was destroyed. The date, hand painted in a modern futura, is tempting in its significance. The piece includes a handmade cardboard box, and a Newspaper clipping from the New York Times.
